Will YOU fight for Bush?

So, i'm sitting at work one day, and for whatever reason, a few of the crew starts talking about the war, joking about certain situations, and whatnot. then, one of my co-workers asked me, "hey sin, you wouldn't go and fight for your country man?" and i'm sitting there with this 'what the F' type look on my face, b/c i can't believe another black man just asked me to fight for this country. so i began, "well... umm... the last time i looked, 'my' people and 'your' people were brought to this country to be slaves. 'our' people are the reason that this country is what it is, but we are still treated as slaves, and/or second class citizens. hmmm, so u would go and fight for a country where you were once not even considered a whole person? u would go and fight for a country that has, and still calls you a nigger? a country that still hasn't given you human rights, let along civil rights?..."

i contined, "did you know that both osama AND suddam have ties to the US? suddam was educated here, went back to his country, gained control of it, and b/c he didn't want to give the US what she wanted, he became an enemy of the US? did u know that it was osama who built that military base over there in iraq, amongst other things? did you know that Bush has spent nearly 200 BILLION dollars on this war, and he hasn't proven osama flew the planes into the buildings, nor has he found any weapons of mass destruction? do you know how many families you can feed for 200 BILLION? do you know how many jobs you can create with 200 BILLION? do you know how many people can be brought above the proverty line with 200 BILLION? do you know how many people can actually go to college with 200 BILLION? with that 200 BILLION do you know how many peoples medical bills could be payed off?"

by now, he's trying to stop me, wishing that he hadn't even asked me the damn question, but i'm going like the damn energizer bunny - "suddam has never done anything to me, neither has osama, but BUSH and his people have done my people all types of shyt. u have kids Sed, so what you're telling me is that you'll leave your wife and kids at home to go and fight for BUSH? to fight for a country were your ancestors were once held captive? oh, i get it, you one of those blacks who thinks just b/c you can sit in the same room with whites that we've made it huh? that b/c we can date their daughters that we've made it? that b/c we can drink and eat with them that we've made it? you know whats funny though sed, when i first got this job, someone told me that you were always in white peoples faces, that you were an uncle tom, and i got mad at the dude b/c i thought he was hating on you, but now, now i see that he was telling the truth man..."

so now he has this real screwed up look on his face. actually he's shame now. he speaks, "well damn sin, you didn't have to get so deep man... i was just asking a quesion, that i figured was simple enough. and you didn't have to go off on me like that..." i told him, "asking a black man to fight for this country is asking him to become a physical slave again, there's nothing simple about that. but a simple person would think something like that is simple..."
